Childcare at BFFT on school holiday for Day of Atonement

Year after year, the Day of Atonement represents a particular challenge for many working parents of school-age children. While the students are out of school, parents generally need to meet their professional obligations.

This year, for the first time, automotive engineering developer BFFT offered its employees childcare as part of “My Day at BFFT” on the school holiday for the Day of Atonement (Wednesday, November 18, 2015). As part of an initiative to improve the reconciliation of work and family life an elaborate, all-day program was planned for this day. It guaranteed school children between the ages of 6-14 an exciting and varied day at the company headquarters in Gaimersheim. After enjoying breakfast together, the students were given the choice between a children’s yoga class or a children’s self-defense course in the in-house gym, as well as a tour of the company during which they had the opportunity to participate in a small hands-on soldering project. At lunch in the BFFT Cafeteria the children fortified themselves with various delicious pasta dishes. A movie in the afternoon at the local cinema “CineStar Ingolstadt” rounded off a thoroughly enjoyable day. Employees from the Ingolstadt South and Neuburg sites were even able to take advantage of a special shuttle service to the headquarters for their children.

Even at the BFFT site in Regensburg employees childcare was offered. In cooperation with gfi gGmbH Regensburg, the children first participated in an Italian cooking class. After the joint lunch (with self-made pizza), they went to the cinema before the parents fetched their thrilled kids in the evening.

Thanks to the childcare at BFFT on the Day of Atonement, many parents were able to “optimally balance work and family”. BFFT thanks all the students who were present for an action-packed and exciting day!
