BFFT “fan sofa“ at FC Ingolstadt lights up children’s eyes
Last April 17, two very special winners were able to take in FC Ingolstadt’s home match against Fortuna Dusseldorf live and up close from the BFFT Fansofa. Grundschule im Englischen Garten (Neuburg) primary school students Lukas (4th grade) and Anassimos (2nd grade) had the good fortune to cheer on their favorite professional players from their very own fieldside perch next to the coach’s bench.
The two boys play on their primary school’s football teams as a hobby, and as part of an awards ceremony and a raffle they ended up being the winners of BFFT Fansofa seats.
On the day of the Second Division match, the young football fans were brimming with excitement at school and could hardly sit still at their desks, with the duo eagerly counting down the minutes to the FC Ingolstadt football spectacle.
Just before kick-off, the two boys were outfitted with a bit of fan memorabilia, after which it was off towards the BFFT Fansofa while parents and siblings were able to take in the match from the stands. Initially shy, they opened up more and more as the match wore on, in particular when FC Ingolstadt mascot Schanzi paid a visit to the fan sofa and professional footballer André Mijatovic autographed their flags. It eventually became clear that the elementary school students could no longer hide their joy and high emotions, with the two stating “This is really the best seat“ and “I’ve never done anything this cool!“ Lukas and Anassimos exited the Audi Sportpark stadium with radiant eyes following an exciting and thrilling 3:2 victory over Fortuna Dusseldorf. No doubt the two boys‘ memories will remain with them for a long, long time to come!
