Dramatic season final for Schanzer Racing Electric – once more top ranking

Schanzer Racing Electric (SRE) has finished a very successful season in 2014 with another top 10-placement: After placing 8th and 6th at the Hockenheim Ring in Germany and Red Bull Ring in Austria, the Formula Student Team of the Technical College of Ingolstadt again ranked an excellent 6th place in the Italian Varano de’ Melegari.

Besides, as far as drama was concerned, the season final from August, 29th until September, 1st was not to be outbid for the Ingolstadt fans: Ranking third in the Business Plan and second in the Engineering Design Report, the SRE team sponsored by BFFT started in the dynamic disciplines with a good hand of cards. There they could again collect valuable points ranking 2nd and 3rd in Autocross and Acceleration. Then it was a matter of winning the advantage “only” in the Endurance Race. Here the teams must master a distance of 22 km in 28 laps. Unfortunately, after some competitors had already been eliminated, the SRE racer came to a halt only 3 km before the finish because of a broken wheel hub. On account of the very good performance in the other disciplines, SRE finally gained a tremendous 6th place in the overall results.

BFFT congratulates the entire SRE team for their successful season’s final!
