Up close and personal with the stars of FC Bayern: BFFT at the 2015 Paulaner Cup Final
A wealth of stars, goals and great soccer excitement – all this awaited a total of 12,200 enthusiastic spectators at this year’s final of the Paulaner Cup. On November 9, 2015, before a cast of some of the world’s biggest football stars, a motley team of amateurs met the Bundesliga professionals of Bayern Munich. A total of 30 footballers from nine countries managed to convince the jury (which included Philipp Lahm and Paul Breitner) with their videos, photos and texts, and were eventually given the chance to prove their football talent in the Continental-Arena.
The 30 amateur soccer players from nine countries had prepared themselves for the match at a two-day training camp and they pit themselves against the German record holders with great passion. FC Bayern Munich eventually beat the Paulaner Dream Eleven 6:1 – but when the final whistle blew there were only winners in the Continental Arena in Regensburg. The players from Europe, China and the United States had fulfilled a dream and the spectators had experienced a FC Bayern team, which included many stars who had travelled to the final. Much to the delight of the many fans who had also made the journey. Playing for FC Bayern in Regensburg, alongside the captain Philipp Lahm, were, amongst others, Thomas Müller, Manuel Neuer, Xabi Alonso, Javier Martinez, Rafinha, Holger Badstuber and Joshua Kimmich.
The BFFT Regensburg office, which in the field of series development is always on the ball, also seized this opportunity to experience FC Bayern and the Paulaner Dream Eleven up close and to cheer them loudly on. Thus BFFT gave 20 of its employees a shared evening of football, in which BFFT-blue fingers were kept firmly crossed for both teams.
