The 5th Day of Electromobility at TH Ingolstadt attracts several hundred visitors
On May 20th, 2015 (2:00-7:00) the Day of Electromobility took place for the fifth time at TH Ingolstadt. In order to bring more students into contact with the exhibitors, the event was scheduled on a weekday this time. The event, which was organized through the collaboration of the THI and the VDI (Association of German Engineers), focused mainly on “experiencing and discovering electromobility”. The various companies and associations in the circle of exhibitors (including Audi, IAV, and Schanzer Racing Electric) allowed interested visitors to learn more about the fields of activity of each company. In addition, electric vehicles stood ready for the entire afternoon, available for visitor viewing but also mainly for test drives. These included the Audi A7 htron, BWM i3, Mercedes B-Class Electric Drive, VW Golf GTE, Smart Fortwo electric drive, Renault Zoe, Nissan Leaf, and Mitsubishi Outlander.
Since the 5th-year BFFT Energy Storage Systems and Electrification talk deals with the theme of electromobility, BFFT could not go without its own booth at the event. A special highlight of the event was the Audi Wallbox on display, which even the president of TH Ingolstadt Prof. Schober marveled. These were constructed in BFFT workshops and serve as wall mounts for the Audi e-tron model chargers.
Even the student racing team at TH Ingolstadt, Schanzer Racing Electric, which has been supported by the Automotive Engineering Developer in Ingolstadt since the beginning, was represented at the 5th Day of Electromobility with its repurposed driving simulator and an exhibitors booth. As direct neighbors, the close relationship between student racing enthusiasts and BFFT is shown once again.
