Let’s talk about jobs: BFFT are guest speakers at the Christoph Scheiner-Gymnasium study and career information evening
A-Levels and then what? This is the question more and more secondary school students are asking themselves, due to the sheer variety of courses and training options open to them. In order to get a better understanding of these different disciplines, on 6 February 2015, a career information evening for more than 200 A-level students from years 11 and 12 was held at the Christoph Scheiner-Gymnasium in Ingolstadt. The background to this event was a survey run by the school on the subject “what are students interested in?” An evaluation of the total of 66 questionnaires returned revealed that that 53 percent of all students wanted to be better informed about the various study and career options available to them.
Alongside 35 speakers from different companies (including the Airbus Group, the Donaukurier newspaper) and institutions (including the Ingolstadt municipal theatre, Ingolstadt Institute of Technology) were BFFT, with seven experts at the event. In short presentations they showed the prospective students and employees possible future paths they could take at BFFT. From mechanical, electrical and aerospace engineering to business degree courses such as sports or event management – the range of qualifications at BFFT is diverse. BFFT CEO Michael Mittag also spoke about his experiences as a student of business administration and about his day to day working life managing the Gaimersheim-based vehicle developer. Because of the wide range of presentations, students were given the opportunity to select three speakers in advance and book to hear their short presentations in small groups and ask questions. At the end of the event, feedback forms were distributed to both the students and the speakers, which gave consistently positive ratings.
