BFFT at IAA 2017 in Frankfurt
Early in the morning on Tuesday, 09/19/2017, a tour bus full of BFFT-ers set out for Frankfurt. Destination: The IAA – PKW (Intenational Automobile show). The travelers were fortified with buttered pretzels and coffee during the drive. After arrival, the newest trends and technology highlights were viewed. Of course a visit to the EDAG booth was in order. Here, the colleagues were informed about what was probably the world’s first live engineering, by EDAG and BFFT. Visitors were not only able to watch the development specialists do their work live, but also interact directly on the spot or via social media channels under the hashtag #collectivio during the concept phase itself. On the last day of the exhibition, the results of this experiment, which can be found on the net at www.collectivio.de, will be presented as a generatively printed scale model. Along with the Parisian Auto Salon, the Detroit Auto Show, the Geneva Auto Salon and the Tokyo Motor Show, the International Automobile Show (abbreviated IAA) is one of the largest and most internationally significant automobile industry exhibitions in the world. It takes place in odd years as an automobile exhibition in Frankfurt and in even years as a commercial vehicle exhibition in Hanover and is separated by date according to industry visitors and public days. The IAA is organized by the Verband der Automobilindustrie VDA [Automobile Industry Association].
