BFFT CEO Markus Fichtner attends the Ingolstadt Technical College graduation ceremony
Two classes (Automotive Technology and Electromobility) of the Ingolstadt Technical College visited BFFT in Gaimersheim near Ingolstadt on 17 July 2017, and just over a week later (26 July 2017), BFFT co-founder Markus Fichtner was invited to attend the graduation ceremony of the college by its Director, Karl Hartl. As the only representative from the world of business, Markus Fichtner motivated the young engineers by showing them what it is possible to achieve with a technical diploma.
Fichtner was accompanied in honouring the students at the event by some well-known politicians from the region (Councilwoman Eva-Maria Atzerod (CSU) and Eva-Maria Bulling Schröter (Die Linke, Member of the Federal Parliament). It was certainly a déjà vu experience for Markus Fichtner, because this was the same college where he had once received his own diploma. His career has definitely been extraordinary, perhaps even unique. After successfully completing his studies at the college, the now 44-year-old Fichtner, who was born in Ingolstadt, began training as an industrial electronics engineer at Audi AG. To complement his personal skills, Markus Fichtner decided to acquire an engineering degree. Many people will be familiar with his achievements after he received his engineering degree. In 1998, BFFT was founded as a two-man operation by Georg Behr and Markus Fichtner. From the very beginning, the company focused on the subject of automotive electronics, conducting projects in the fields of test rig construction and vehicle technology for Audi AG. After just a few years, BFFT was awarded the status “Audi AG strategic development partner”. Fewer than 20 years later, the electronics specialists boast roughly 900 employees in Germany and abroad. The growth of the company is remarkable, and it’s certainly not over yet.
