Project Management Day at BFFT
On May 7th, 2018, BFFT’s first Project Management Day took place. The PMO (Project Management Office) created this informational event to teach project managers and executives about various project management topics in the best way possible.
What is project management?
Project management (PM) refers to initiating, planning, controlling, monitoring, and completing projects. There are many established and standardized terms and procedures in project management. The goal is to plan and manage projects properly, limit risks, seize opportunities, and achieve project goals qualitatively, on time, and within budget. PM includes leadership tasks, organization, techniques, and resources for successfully completing a project.
There were two events to choose from: one in the morning from 9:00 to 12:15 or one in the afternoon from 1:00 to 4:15. We wanted to give as many people as possible a chance to attend. About 140 interested people answered the BFFT Project Management Office’s call to the Business Sport Club on the 4th floor of BFFT Headquarters. Technical Director Nico Hartmann opened both events, stressing how important it is for a company to have a smooth project schedule. Afterwards, a few topics were discussed in detail: the project development process, PM training concepts, and various tools. At the end of each event, the EDAG Legal Department gave a guest lecture on “Legal Aspects in Project Management.”
We didn’t want the participants of the first BFFT project management day to go home empty-handed. At each event, a present from BFFT’s in-house shop was waiting at every seat. At the end, you could participate in a raffle by answering three specific questions about project management. Raffle participants competed for lucrative prizes such as the BFFT hoodie or two VIP tickets for FC Ingolstadt 04.
