A very special volunteer position: BFFT employees as IHK examiners
Many BFFT employees are volunteering in sports and music clubs as well as other organizations. A few of their colleagues, however, have a very special volunteer position: They are examiners for the Chambers of Commerce and Industry (IHK).
Every year, the branches of the IHK examine countless trainees, from rising office clerks to aircraft mechanics. Volunteer professionals from the fields in question are usually responsible for the exams. As soon as the next IHK examination dates are determined, these professionals can register as examiners. With this, they take responsibility for supervision, assess the performance of the assigned tasks and lead technical discussions (normally in their own training professions) – and all of this in their free time!
At BFFT, some employees are currently active as examiners in the fields of aircraft mechanics, electrical engineering, and computer science, as well as training instructors (“ADA” certification). BFFT supports these colleagues with leaves of absence or special leave for examination dates. This is not only a recognition of their volunteer work. In the end, it also benefits the company itself: Through regular attendance at and preparation for the IHK exams, employees keep up with the current state of (taught) technology and it is not uncommon for them to gain first contact with potential new colleagues from the region.
