BFFT Fanmobile on tour: Danube Derby & site visit
BFFT and FC Ingolstadt (FCI) have been on the ball together since 2010. But unlike most football sponsorships, BFFT focuses on an active connection and a lively exchange with its employees.
Since last week, the ball has once again been rolling over the “sacred turf” of the German stadiums in the second Bundesliga. The start was not exactly made to measure for FC Ingolstadt 04. In the first home game of the remaining season last Tuesday, the Schanzers had to settle for just one point against SV Sandhausen.
On Friday, January 26th, 2018, the highlight was finally on the board: the Danube Derby in Regensburg against SSV Jahn. FCI wanted to take revenge for the bitter first-leg defeat in their native Audi Sportpark.
The BFFT Fanmobile already started at 2:00 PM and set off for the Upper Palatinate. The first stop of the day was the BFFT branch at the business park in Regensburg. After a brief tour through the “hallowed halls” of the series developers, the squad bulked up for the upcoming football match with their local colleagues. Afterwards, 16 BFFT colleagues – eight from Ingolstadt and eight from Regensburg – made their way towards the Continental Arena.
The first half was promising for the Schanzers, and FCI had a comfortable 2-0 lead at the break. But as the saying goes, a derby has its own laws. SSV Jahn Regensburg turned the game in their favor, leaving the 1800 visiting fans from Ingolstadt properly dumbfounded. Unfortunately, the Schanzers had plenty of opportunities beforehand to put the lid on it, so to speak. It seems that we simply won’t be able to beat our rivals from 80 kilometers down the Danube this season. “Whoever laughs last laughs best” – this is probably what the Regensburg colleagues thought after SSV Jahn Regensburg’s close victory against FC Ingolstadt 04 in the Danube Derby.
Next Saturday, on February 3rd, the Schanzers will already have an opportunity to mitigate damage. It will be time for the next Bavarian duel with number seventeen on the league table, the SpVgg Greuther Fürth. The BFFT Fansofa will be back in the front row again and will hopefully celebrate the first “three point score” of 2018.
