BFFT is main sponsor of the „HAW Ingolstadt`s Schanzer Racing Electric Team”

In the autumn of 2010, the vision of creating an electronic racing car every year within the “Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften” (HAW) (Academy for Applied Science) in Ingolstadt came into being. Markus Petry, Vice President at the HAW, states “also important besides the immense learning effect about technical and organizational build-up of the racing car, is the interdisciplinary collaboration as well as the identification with our academy beyond the classroom”.

Since October 2011, BFFT has been the „Schanzer electric teams“ main sponsor and has supported the 70 students, who go  with the racing cars from 31st  July –  05th August 2012 to the Student Formula Racing series on the Hockenheim Ring and from 14th to 17th September 2012 to the Riccardo Paletti race track in Italy. There, the car with an output of 60 kW, a weight of approximately 270 kg, top speeds of 120 km/h and an acceleration rate of less than 4 seconds was tested in figure eight driving, autocross, acceleration and long distance racing.

Besides granting financial aid, BFFT is mainly supports the SRe team in planning, constructing and building the high voltage battery. The departments for alternative driving technology, HWSW-development and the PAS team are actively working on the project.

BFFT wishes the Schanzer Racing Electric Team all the best for the upcoming races!
