BFFT team started at the Triathlon Ingolstadt for the fourth time this weekend
Around 2,500 athletes stood ready in the starting blocks for the sixth Ingolstadt triathlon on Sunday, June 14. In one of the region’s biggest events, something was offered for every kind of athlete’s heart: Beginners could exert themselves at the sprint distance (0.75km swimming, 20km cycling, 5km running), professionals at the Olympic distance (1.5km swimming, 40km cycling, 10km running), and particular die-hards at the middle distance (2km swimming, 77km cycling, 20.2km running). Triathlon greats like Jan Raphael, Per Bittner, Yvonne van Vlerken, and Faris Al-Sultan were, of course, not allowed to miss out on this famous event and were considered favorites for the winners’ podium.
There were also about 60 starters there for BFFT who participated at the sprint distance and the Olympic distance. While some colleagues plunged into the waters of Ingolstadt’s excavated lake, others had to pedal eagerly or circle the lake several times on foot. With that, some noteworthy successes could be mentioned, since two contestants made it into the top 10 for the short distance competition (fifth and ninth place). As a cooperation partner of the triathlon, the vehicle technician was also on-site over the weekend to vigorously cheer on the BFFT team. Additionally, the fan and fitness tent was also there, stocked with cold drinks, snacks, and fresh fruit for the athletes.
BFFT congratulates its participants on their athletic victories and looks forward to the 7th triathlon next year!
