Successful first racing season for rising star Fabian Vettel
At the start of the racing season, BFFT entered new territory as a sponsor, as did Fabian Vettel as a racing driver. Working together as a team, they launched the Audi Sport TT Cup project. Motorsport had long been a fascinating topic for BFFT, and Fabian was exactly the kind of person that the company had sought to embody the spirit of BFFT.
The final race of the Audi TT Cup junior series was held last weekend (14 – 15 October 2017), as part of the DTM series finale. It is now clear that the races last weekend were the last two events ever to be held in the Audi TT Cup, and that there will be no new series to act as its successor. This news heralds the end of a 20-year tradition of the German group’s participation in brand cup competitions for beginners, which began in 1998 with the Volkswagen ADAC Touring Junior Cup.
BFFT-sponsored racing star of tomorrow Fabian Vettel ended his first season in motorsport at the weekend. The younger brother of four-time Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel can look back on a successful season that was crowned by his success at the Nurburgring. Fabian Vettel proved his winning qualities in a difficult race and claimed second place. The final race at the Hockenheimring was also attended by Fabian’s elder brother Sebastian: the Formula 1 star didn’t want to miss the opportunity to support his brother in his last race of the season.
The ever-popular BFFT Fanmobil made a series of trips to support the young racer. The most popular trip was definitely an all-inclusive carefree camping weekend at the Norisring in Nuremberg. The Fanmobil also took BFFT employees to the final race last weekend. To commemorate the end of the first successful season together, BFFT presented Fabian Vettel with a specially-branded helmet in the pit lane.
BFFT would like to express its thanks for the successful racing season and other joint activities with Fabian Vettel (such as the Karting event for BFFT employees). It is still unclear how and where Fabian will be competing for points in next year’s season, but it’s definitely going to be exciting. We may have an update soon, so stay tuned!
