Training phase at BFFT: 70 colleagues stand in the starting blocks at the 2016 Triathlon Ingolstadt
Event organizer Gerhard Budy is not the only one making the final preparations for the seventh run of the Triathlon Ingolstadt. Employees at BFFT are eagerly anticipating the major sporting event as well, and athlete training is in full swing. Among the more than 2,500 participants competing in the sprint, Olympic, and middle-distance races this year, there are around 70 employees donning the BFFT team shirt once again. They will master the three disciplines of swimming, cycling, and running.
To properly prepare the employees for the Triathlon Ingolstadt, some joint workshops took place at BFFT’s headquarters in cooperation with the fitness studio Business Sport Club. In weekly core training sessions, colleagues were prepared specifically for the triathlon with strength, stability, and endurance exercises. Some of these exercises used training equipment such as TRX, XCO-Trainer, and more. BFFT also offered regular workshops led by experts in each discipline. In these workshops, the various triathlon courses took place in and around Ingolstadt’s quarry pond. Among these were swimming, cycling, and running. In addition, athletes were given valuable tips on correct preparation and how to best master the distances.
At the triathlon next Sunday, BFFT will be represented by several actions at Ingolstadt Lake: near the transition zone, a BFFT fitness & fan pavilion has been prepared, which will serve as a meeting place for all BFFT athletes, colleagues, friends, family and fans. There will be drinks and snacks available, and mini-goals have been constructed so that the European Football Championship can be kicked off in the right way. In addition, two massage therapists will be on hand to get the tired muscles of our brave triathletes back into shape. We would like to thank the Business Sport Club, SC Delphin Ingolstadt and the coaches and experts who have helped prepare our colleagues for the Ingolstadt Triathlon for their support.
BFFT is looking forward to this year’s Triathlon Ingolstadt and wishes its numerous athletes a lot of fun and success!
