Schanzer Racing Electric enters Formula Student Germany for a fourth time
At the start line for this year’s Formula Student Germany at the Hockenheimring, there were a total of 110 teams representing colleges and universities from around the world. There, the budding engineers and economists had to try and prove themselves both on, and next to the race track, in static disciplines (business planning, cost and design reporting) and dynamic disciplines (acceleration, skidpan, autocross and endurance).
With their self-developed electric race car, the Schanzer Racing Electric team were entering the world’s largest engineering and business competition for students for the fourth time. Right at the very start of the event, the electrics division had to contend with long waiting times for the battery inspections, which they nevertheless passed. It took several night shifts to prepare this powerhouse of a car for the technical inspections. A number of difficulties took the Schanzer team to their limits and unfortunately they did not succeed in passing the scrutineering without a hitch. Thus, the FS Germany ended prematurely for the race team from the Technical University of Ingolstadt.
As chief sponsor, we wish the Schanzer Racing Electric team good luck at the upcoming competition in Italy, which will take place from 11-14 September in Varano de’ Melegari.
