BFFT at the IAA Commercial Vehicles trade show in Hanover
The Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung (IAA – International Motor Show) will take place in Hanover between the 20th and 27th of September 2018. The commercial vehicle industry will be presenting the latest developments in the sector under the motto “Driving tomorrow”. The IAA Commercial Vehicles show takes place in Hanover every two years and is the world’s leading trade fair for transport, logistics and mobility. It offers a unique cross-section spanning the entire value chain of the industry, ranging from vehicles to transport and logistics, and from manufacturers to their many medium-sized suppliers. Vehicle technology developer BFFT has always been a reliable development partner for automobile manufacturers in these three fields. The commercial vehicle industry has also depended on BFFT solutions since the development of a driver assistance system for agricultural machinery manufacturer SAME DEUTZ-Fahr in 2015, and the integration of battery and charging concepts in fully-electric buses in 2016. It is therefore no surprise that BFFT will be exhibiting at this year’s IAA as a competent partner for electromobility.
As two years ago, BFFT will be represented at the EDAG stand. At the previous event, the vehicle technology specialist presented a modular battery system to the trade, but this year, it will be spotlighting its specially-developed SRD Fusion tool.
BFFT’s SRD Fusion Engine perceives the environment of a vehicle on the basis of raw sensor data. A combination of radar, LIDAR and camera data is used to identify static and dynamic elements in the vehicle environment that can be used to interpret or predict complex situations. Depending on the manufacturer’s requirements, the SRD Fusion Engine can be used for benchmarking ADAS sensors, as a reference model for ensuring the safety of autopilots, or as a data fusion technology for autonomous driving level 4 and above. The SRD Fusion Engine is thus a future-oriented safety improvement solution that lays the foundation for the future of autonomous driving in the commercial vehicle sector.
