BFFT develops autonomously driven Q5 in collaboration with FZI
In July 2011 an autonomously driven street-legal Audi Q5 was developed by BFFT in cooperation with Karlsruhe`s FZI (Research Center for Information Technology) including expert assessment of electromagnetic tolerance (the immunity and sensitivity towards external interference of the car is checked in a so-called EMV test at TÜV: German Association for Technical Inspection)
After consulting with FZI, BFFT developed and set up the car. Implementation of sensor technology and actuating systems that determine car settings with several sensors that can independently take over car guidance were completed. In addition, other BFFT employees were involved in the networking and integration of the car communication technology.
