BFFT supports SRE in the development of Facebook apps
Facebook is the world’s largest social network and, with its many applications, represents an innovative way to provide users with an interactive brand experience. Relevant target groups visiting a company’s profile page can learn more about the company’s brand, products or services, enabling increased awareness and sales. But since the Web 2.0 community is very fast moving, apps must always be new and unique.
BFFT too has been using a Facebook channel to reach its target groups and to enter into dialogue with them since 2013. For its Facebook pages, BFFT developed its own applications using HTML and PHP. Out of this experience, a joint project has emerged with sponsorship partner Schanzer Racing Electric (SRE): as part of an internship with BFFT, a member of the SRE team is currently developing two apps for their Facebook profile page with BFFT’s support. BFFT is making available its know-how and technical support (including their own server) to support the development of the software.
In addition to a careers page showing current job positions and team information, an app is being developed which will automatically integrate content from the Schanzer Racing blog into their Facebook profile page. This presents the particular challenge of programming the code that will allow RSS feeds to be drawn down automatically. The same student is also developing another project with the help of BFFT: that is, based on a project management tool developed by BFFT in- house, to carry out the programming to develop a similar tool for Schanzer Racing Electric.
