Ensuring that everything works in the car – BFFT’s multi-talented CShark
The car has long since morphed from a no-frill means of transportation into a modern-day companion. The smartphone has been fully integrated, specially developed infotainment apps communicate with the outside world while driving, and the driver sits in the middle of it all. To make sure that all this beautiful new technology doesn’t become a distraction – and above all ensure that it works flawlessly – innovative electronics developer BFFT has developed its “CShark” automation framework.
BFFT recently demonstrated its expertise to a wide audience at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where the “CShark” automation framework was the highlight at the stand of parent company EDAG Engineering GmbH. This modular framework enables the various components of an infotainment system to be tested both individually and in the complete end-to-end chain. BFFT covers the entire protection chain of online services in the vehicle, from the simulation of the entire vehicle to the follow-on comparison of the simulated data with a frontend.
These tests can be easily started and managed via a web portal or an app and then graphically displayed. “From there, the test results can be evaluated and directly distributed,” explains Markus Fichtner, Managing Director of BFFT. In addition to the integration of software and apps in the automation framework, BFFT offers the customer-specific connection of hardware components with the in-house-developed system. In addition, if requested BFFT can commence operation of the system on site and provide customers with technical support and training. “CShark” has been in series production since 2016 and is currently being used for the end-to-end safeguarding of various mobile online services in the automotive industry.
